Temporarily cached in your browser memory for this session only. Never saved to any disk or server.

100% Client-Side Cryptography

Passwords are created using window.crypto.getRandomValues(), the browser's cryptographically secure pseudo-random number generator. Nothing is ever sent to or processed by a server.

How to generate a secure password

  1. 1

Choose between a Random Password (maximum entropy) or a Memorable Passphrase (easy to remember).

  2. 2

Adjust character length using the slider (we recommend 16 characters or more).

  3. 3

Select which character sets to include (uppercase, lowercase, numbers, symbols).

  4. 4

Click Copy Password or scan the QR code to transfer it directly to your mobile device.

Frequently asked questions

Is this password generator secure?+

Yes. LinkMeow uses the native Web Crypto API (window.crypto.getRandomValues), which generates cryptographically secure pseudo-random values seeded from hardware entropy. Your password is generated entirely within your browser memory and is never transmitted over the internet.

What makes a password strong?+

A strong password has at least 16 characters and combines uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers, and symbols. The length of a password has an exponential effect on brute-force cracking resistance.

What is a memorable passphrase?+

A passphrase combines 4 or more random dictionary words separated by hyphens (e.g., 'Velvet-Falcon-Orbit-Beacon42'). Passphrases are easier for humans to remember while providing massive entropy that is extremely difficult for computer algorithms to guess.

Why avoid ambiguous characters?+

Ambiguous characters like the uppercase 'I' (India), lowercase 'l' (lima), digit '1' (one), capital 'O' (Oscar), and digit '0' (zero) often look identical in many fonts. Excluding them prevents confusing typos when transcribing passwords.

How does the QR Code transfer work?+

Click the QR icon next to your generated password to produce an on-screen QR code. Scanning this code with your mobile camera lets you instantly copy the password to your phone without having to email or text it over unencrypted channels.
